RDCH 701:  Nuclear Chemistry

This course introduces fundamental nuclear properties in radiation and radiochemistry. Concepts of the nuclei, radioactive decay, and nuclear reactions are examined. The use of quantum mechanics in the development of nuclear models and equations are explored. The basic physics involved in the interaction of radiation with matter are presented.

RDCH 702:  Radiochemistry

This course introduces fundamental chemical properties in radiation and radiochemistry. The use of stability constants and the relationship between speciation, kinetics and thermodynamics is presented. The influence of radiolysis on the chemistry of radioisotopes is discussed. Radioisotope production and use are presented. Fundamentals of radiochemical separations are explained.
