In Chapter 26 chromatographic separations are introduced.  In chromatography, chemical species are separated then detected.  The detection methods depend upon the species examined and utilize those discussed earlier in class.  A general description of chromatography is supplied.  Migration rates and conditions that impact separation are discussed.  The concept of theoretical plates is introduced.  Applications of chromatographic separations are given.
